I would LOVE to know what it is like to be a Part Time working Mother – much less a SAHM. I have always worked full time plus some since my son has been born… But a mother has to do what a mother has to do to provide for her family!
I know – it’s SO challenging to balance it all. I’m an imperfect mother, but I do try. I’ve found oven timers help a lot. For example, if your child naps at a certain time of the day, set your timer for 45 minutes to an hour. Don’t distract yourself by checking Facebook or emails or housework. Just try to work straight through. Or sneak in work while she/he is watching a PBS show. You can also try to make household chores fun by playing music and chasing her while vacuuming or emptying the dishwasher while she’s in the high chair. If your kids are older, never underestimate the power of PLAYDATES!
I’ve done the work full time thing and am now doing the work part-time from home on my own business. I seem to rarely have enough time to do all the household and kid things I want and even need to do. I’d love to just be able to let go and be just mommy and wife.
Thanks, Kerry! Working from home is not always easy, especially when your little ones are REALLY little. I wish you all the best, but have confidence that you will like it. Do what works best for YOU! I look forward to checking out your blog. Stay in touch!
I love the cartoons!! I have worked full time, part time and been a stay at home mom. All of them have good points and not so good points! I am now trying to be the work from home mom– I haven’t completely figured this one out yet!
