I’m shameless, so I’ll show you which movie I watched by myself.
Do you have a movie you’re embarrassed to say you watched by yourself? I confessed that I watched this movie, so come on. Please throw me a bone here, ladies.

It’s not every day that you come in contact with something that means so much to you (and comes in adorable, convenient packaging). Not since I discovered Little Debbie’s® Swiss Roll have I felt such a confectionary connection. Meet my new best friend, Nutella & Go. This little snack can literally melt away kid-rearing stress without adding layers to my behind. (Due to the small size of the package, not necessarily my lack of self-discipline.) God bless America.
I pack these Nutella singles with mini-bread sticks in my kids’ lunches. (Boy, how I wish I had this snack when I was in elementary school.)

If you really need a pick me up today, be so thankful your children don’t act like these fictitious kids, from the movie Talladega Nights starring Will Farrell.

Do you remember this commercial from the 1980’s? I thought about this often when I was potty training my kids.

I have to share this link on being a not-quite-perfect parent from the perspective a funny and self-deprecating father 1) because I adore this stand-up comedian (you may have heard of Louise CK?) 2) because this is such an unconventionally (tame) appropriate piece of advice from Louis that can’t really be translated without me watering down his humor or butchering the punch line (which I have a tendency to do according to my loving husband, the devoted father of my children).
Link to Louis CK on fatherhood.

Holly Hunter in Home for the Holidays. I can so relate to running into girls from
high school looking like this!

The second Sex and the City movie may not have been as good as the first, but I loved the part when Miranda and Charlotte vented on the challenges of motherhood (over cocktails, of course). Check out the clip!

Are you a working mom? I realize it’s an oxymoron. Being
a mom is work. And it’s the toughest
job around. But I’m talking about moms who also work out of the home. If you
just went back to work or have worked out of the home since the dawn of time,
work part-time or full-time, you too are a rock star. How do you balance the
insanity? Have you ever showed up at the office wearing two different shoes? With
deodorant on your skirt? Cleaning up the conference table like Terri Garr in
Mr. Mom?
I want to hear your side, your take, your story. Please share!
(I used to tweeze my eyebrows in between traffic
lights. I heard a radio listener once complain about a “crazy lady”
doing this during the morning commute. I’m almost positive he was talking about
me!)
A clip from one of my favorite 80’s movies, Mr. Mom!
